Forums mIRC Help Chat/DCC Windows do not show on desktop

Hello, first post here, shame it has to be a help topic.

I cannot make dcc windows or chat windows stay open on my desktop. Every time I start mIRC 6.31, I have to select the windows through the right click menu to allow it to be shown on the desktop.

I have changed the settings at Display>Options>Windows to try and make sure the windows appear on my desktop. If there way to do this automatically, or do I have to set it myself every time I open mIRC?

I can't reproduce this behaviour.

If you set the [x] Send/Gets and [x] Chat settings to open as a desktop window in alt-o -> Options -> Windows then they should indeed open without resetting that ever again.

Do these settings have any effect, even within the same mIRC session?

Also, what version of mIRC are you running, and do you have any scripts loaded?

Using mIRC 6.31 without scripts, and I have those options selected. They do not have any effect however, because I have to right click on the window in the switchbar and select it to go on my desktop.

In mIRC type //echo -a $version $md5($mircexe,2) $script(0) $com(0) $dll(0) $remote

Cracked eh? Try to reproduce it with a copy of the 6.31 exe that's not patched.

Where did you download it? Did it come packaged with script? Try downloading again and reinstalling it.
