Forums Connection Issues Im in trouble!!

Hello!
Mirc was working fine 2 days ago,so Im not able to connect in a total way,I mean it appears to connect,and it says..found your hostname or password accepted..so i see this (CATCHED!) and that`s all.Impossible to go to channels,all stops here..what is the problem?,Im using win vista and the last versions of mirc and ircap...any suugestions???? Tx!!!

Ever considered that the server youre connecting to is the problem?

I`ve tried a lot of servers from irc hispano,and I have the same problem.

Contact an administrator from the server (no, I don't know who they are-- google it.) because that's your best chance of figuring out what the problem is. Your ip may have been blacklisted accidentally or purposefully, but they should know better than anyone here.

So you know it isn't a mIRC problem if you can't connect to other networks.

But no, you keep trying different servers in the same network.

And if you got a ban from a small network, how could trying different servers in the same network be any different?

After deleting mirc and ircap programs a lot of times,installed again no version can`t connect properly in new pc with vista win.The most curious is that it works in old pc with old versions (there xp win) and same router and ip (ip changed several times too) so I dont know what to do.Not banned,of course,the same sentence all the time,foud nick,password accepted,but ( CACHED) and nothing more..(thinking vista came from aliens...)

How long are you waiting after those messages appear?
Have you tried a clean install of mIRC (i.e. without ircap)?
Have you tried other IRC networks, not just IRCHispano?

Yes, try another network.

Note that connecting to IRC can take some time if the server has to wait for an ident response, so leave mIRC connecting for a couple of minutes, don't just give up.

You originally said the disconnect messaged was "CATCHED!" in your first post, rather than cached. That made it read as if some admin g:lined you with that akill message.

Can you not see what confusion you can cause with such a typo?

But no.. don't point that out. Otherwise we have no reason to believe you "weren't banned" when you say you weren't since you didn't provide examples/reasoning of that.

So now you think you might be g:lined? 1st you said you weren't banned of course (and yes, a g:line is a ban). And now I can convince you that you were?

No,you can`t ,I cant solve this problem,if I were really banned or with a g-line no mirc would work in the old pc,with same ip,weren`t I?

Possibly the server is waiting for an identd response, so just wait a few minutes for it to continue.

Again-- stop touching mIRC-- there's a 99.9% chance that this has nothing to do with your IRC client and everything to do with the network youre connecting to. As Collective said, try another network-- this will prove that its the network's fault. At that point, you can contact an administrator to find out whats wrong.

But as mentioned above, you should probably give it a few minutes before connecting, it might just be checking your ident.. Exactly how long are you waiting?

I didnt ignore us,I waited from 10mn to 30mn and nothing to do,tried another networks,and no response.Asked administrator and after trying all what he thought could be,problem still.

What network did you try? What was the server host you connected to?
