Yesterday my address book, and I think some of my scripts just got wiped. I'm not sure why. Any ideas?

Did you upgrade from a version prior to 6.3 to 6.3 or 6.31?

The directory in which mIRC loads files from has changed since 6.3. Data will load from your userdata directory rather than the mirc executable's directory. This depends on how you performed the upgrade, though.

The problem occurred yesterday, and I upgraded from v6.1 to v6.31 today.

The way I upgraded was by closing mIRC completely, going to the site and downloading it, going through the regular installer and choosing the folder my mIRC was in and just overwriting the files (just the programs files and not ones like scripts or anything).

But like I said, it happened before I upgraded.

Ah, well if it happened before that's different.. Hopefully it was fixed in 6.31, I know certain issues about script file being unloaded randomly have been looked at and fixed recently.

Even after I updated the program, its still deleted...I don't know what to do.

Is there a file that is loaded on startup which has all the address book and favorites information in it? I just realized my favorites list got wiped, too.

mirc.ini, potentially addrbk.ini.. if you lost your favourites that means you lost all of your mIRC settings, as theyre all kept in the same file (mirc.ini)..

Well, I lost my address book, my favorites, and at some other point (maybe the same time I'm not sure) my highlights. I'll try and reload the mirc.ini or the other one you said, though. See what happens...

Okay, so loading mirc.ini didn't work and I didn't see the other .ini you mentioned...all the other settings are in tact though, and I can do without my notify list.

If you wiped mirc.ini and your settings are still there then you didn't wipe the right mirc.ini. Keep in mind 6.3 changes the directory which settings are loaded from by default, see the versions.txt for info on that

The installer is now also aware of administrator and standard user

Make sure you dont have an mirc.ini in there, or that if you do, you're editing that file, otherwise that's likely why your settings seemed to have "disappeared"

Okay, I see the defaults folder, and then I see another mirc.ini. I looked in it, but I didn't see any of the channels that were in my favorites (and it was like two channels). I also don't see any of my address book.
