Forums Connection Issues mIRC has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Hi there,

Been using mIRC for some years now with no problems but formatted on Wednesday and now when i try to connect i get the above error and Dr Watson raises his ugly unwanted head.

Anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it??

Resoluntion - I just told Windows to close the program, not report it, then restarted mIRC again manually.

Haven't had the problem occur since.. that was about 18 months ago.

Have tried that a few times but still keeps being closed by windows.

It is very odd as nothing like this has happened to me before usingmIRC

Are you using any scripts? If you are I'd suggest unloading them and see if that fixes the problem. The most common cause for getting that error is a script that's using a misbehaving DLL which crashes mIRC.

You can always try reinstalling to a new location and seeing if that works or deleting mIRC.ini and seeing if that works.
