I would hope mirc would eventually make more major changes than little stuff here & there, windows should be able to support gif animations where they can animate that would be plus & two change the old pm box here i tried to do it myself & have almost succeeded wif a addon i was working on.

where do you need to support gif animations, exactly? A jpeg screenshot doesn't really help to illustrate animations...

She means for animated background images I think. Ie, everywhere supported by /background

Animated backgrounds?! It's hard enough trying to find good still backgrounds where you can still make out the text (more than a couple colors and you can't see most of what is in the window). Animation would be a real eyesore.

well tbh there's no technical reason why background can't support gif files, no matter how ugly it is

I suppose if someone wants to be masochistic they should be allowed

it dosent matter what color u use for a background pick a color any color & i can fix it to show ANY text , it just takes a little adjusting & i am also that good.
