Being a newbie on this forum I have all kinds of questions. But instead of showing my green horn questions. I have one simple one that will keep me with a <McDonald Smile>

How can I add an avtar to my profile? I keep inserting a url and it tells me that it is the wrong type of picture when I know it is the correct one. A .gif!

is it the right size ? look at your avatar, theen look so it's not to big, or any other problems.

From the site:
Your image must be smaller than 80x80 pixels; .gif, .jpg, .png accepted

Also, keep in mind that the image must be online. It cannot be on your computer. That trips up a lot of people. A link to c:\images\mypic.gif won't work.

The forum also may not accept dynamic links for avatars. Example:

http://www.site.com/images.php?img=avatar.gif

Riamus yeah it is a URL not on computer. I am not sure of the size but it could be that due to directory being an Http address that may be putting a wrench in the mechanics.
