Forums Bug Reports Bug in color of mIRC

Hi all, I'm not sure this is a bug, but i will let you know the problem.

If you go into the mirc colors control panel, you will see "Own Text" and "Normal Text" if these use the same colore (Ex: Own text black, and Normal text black) the "actions" (/me) of the users will be visualized with the "Action Text" color
If "Own Text" and "Normal Text" aren't the same our "actions" will be visualized with the "Own Text" colour", but the actions of other users will be visualized correctly.
This is only an example but this situation has been noticed with other colors and other texts.

Yeah that is weird. I would call it a bug because modifying one should not effect any of the others in any way. I always thought that since there was Own text that there should also be Own action. But now seeing this, I would think that if there will be no Own action then it should at least adhere to Action text.

Tested this as far back as v5.9 with the same results.

It should be if Khaled reads your (this) bug report.

Ok, I hope reads it and are sure that if has not been made of sure purpose of it it corrects!

I'm pretty sure that Khaled reads all bug reports, and I know that he will reply as required

1. I notice the bug happening in 6.16 also
2. I'm wondering if there are any $event where the OTHER TEXT color is used, or whether it's just something used only by scripts, like the INFO2 TEXT color.

'Show Identd requests' uses Other .. don't know what others if any.

Ping? Pong! .. Local info display .. 'Your main nickname is now..' .. 'Your alternate nickname is now..' .. errors like 'Software caused connection abort' and probably all disconnect errors.

Those all use Info2 .. don't know what others if any.

/dns commands and their replies also use 'other'.
