Forums mIRC Help quick question about joining channels

Does anyone know how to get around this stupid annoying error (unable to join channel (too many channels open)). i know there are many posts about this but when i tried to search it gave me a lot of posts and i don't really want to search through everyone .

This is a server setting for the maximum number of channels you can join, it has nothing to do with mIRC. You'll need to speak to the server admins, though in practice I doubt they'll change anything.

Different servers on the same network can often have different maximum channel settings, so perhaps another server could help.

ok cool thanks for the info. its just weird because i see some of my friend idle LOTS of channels.

Try connecting to the same server as your friend, maybe
that server has a higher limit or no limit at all.

Also note that IRCops may be exempt from the limit.
