hi,
i've just had to completely wipe my PC, and reinstall windows xp pro with SP2 and all updates.

I just downloaded and reinstalled mIRC 6.21 and registered it with the name and code in my email message.

Before the reinstall of my system, i could edit the popups.ini file in the editor, and the items added would appear immediately in the right-click menu. Since the reinstall , (today), nothing changes what-so-ever :S i've closed and restarted mIRC between changes and still nothing. I've even rebooted between, with similar non-results. i've tried help files and interweb searches to no avail.

Has anyone any ideas as to what is wrong, and/or to fix this "error" i'm experiencing?

Did you SAVE after editing them? It will not change until you save or press OK (which automatically saves), or until you switch tabs (which just does a temporary save).

yes, i saved under FILE menu, with SAVE, and then closed the editor with the OK button.

I also tried closing mIRC and reloading, and even rebooting after a change, all to no avail :S

If you take the mIRC default popups and go to the Status popups file (from the View menu) and just insert a line at the top that says "test" (no quotes), File>Save, then right click in the Status window, are you sure you don't see "test" at the top of the popup window?

It seems to be fine here. I rarely use those files anyhow because I want everything to be included within my scripts, so I use the MENU command to add items to those menus. But I did test it and it works as expected.
