3 ways of getting into that channel
1 get a new address
2 contact a rooms op and see if u can get in .....
3 wait for a ban to be removed

aside from that i dont think there is any help for u that we here can give u ...... mirc.com is not responsible for every chat channel on the internet and cannot get ur ban lifted

I'm having the same problems. I'm using a laptop - and am based in the UK most of the time. I usually use a variety of channels. I am in the UAE for a while, and, whilst not having changed any of my internet settings (apart from the obvious dial-in ISP), i find i cannot join some of those channels (mp3passion in particular).

I actually join the channel, then it kicks me out and cites being banned as the reason.

I have done a bit of research, and most people from the UAE cannot join this channel, whilst those outside it can join. I believe this is due to the proxy server in the UAE banning the channel.

Is an ISP allowed to block IRC channels, and is there anything i can do to get around the problem??

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Regards.

It is far more likely that the Ops in the channel have banned the ISP you are on than it is that your ISP is blocking certain channels.

Keep in mind, if you use the first method of getting a new host, and the ops realize you are doing this (ban evading) likely they will ban you again only this time the ban will be longer or permanent.
