Is it possible to hide my local host for others????

You mean the message people get when you join a channel/when they whois you, etc? Some networks have a mode +x that masks your address, for networks that don't you can use a bouncer (normally costs money to get one).

I mean when you talk with people private (pm) than you see your nick and the local host. Anyway if it only can be fixed with a bouncer can you give me a good site???

I'm just throwing out a possibility but um when you click

File>Options>IRC>Do you have the option Whois on Query checked? if its checked uncheck it...

Of course there is the possibility that i may be wrong...as i said it is only a suggestion...

If i understand you correctly, you dont want ppl who you pm to see your host? You do realize that can be seen when you join a channel, or if someone does a /whois on you, not just when you pm? Be aware also that if you use a bounce, while those online with you wont see your real host, the person who runs the bounce (also a total stranger) can see not only it, but there is the capability to see everything you type, including your passwords?

I think many ppl use a bnc to get up to no good or hide something or just to have a cute lil host than for any perceived security reason.
