Not sure where to post this:
Say a nick has been idle for 1 minute, what events e.g. msg sending, nick changing, channel joining.. will start a new idle timer? I need to know the complete list, thanks.

if you're talking about time idle in a channel, it is definately saying a message though it MAY include mode changes (either giving or recieving - I dont remember).

If you mean on the whois, I believe it's any message (/msg, /notice, /query, /say, etc) as well as a CTCP event (time, ping, version). I could be missing a few, but I think that's the list
