Do you still have the popups.ini file?

Yes, got your message. By reload do you mean, you reinstalled it? Having completely removed every trace of it from your computer first, then installed it again? Or did you install it over the old installation? If this is the case you probably have some scripts that are conflicting with your mIRC. What is the entire message you recieve when this shows up: Break:Command Halted...

What is your mIRC directory (where is it installed)
look inside this directory for popups.ini. The mIRC you have is it from this website? Or is it from some other site?

Did you download the program from one of the official mirror sites (the ones you'll find at http://www.mirc.co.uk/get.html)? If not, get it there, delete the current program and install what you just downloaded.

Once you install the program, are you loading any scripts? Don't.

See if it works at this point.

Go to the mirc directory and either right click on the folder and cut and paste it somewhere else, or click hold and drag it to another location. You might wanna try to just reinstall mirc to another location for testing purposes. Have you loaded any script files?

Yeah be careful when reinstalling, you have to make sure you check the right stuff. Backup files, settings etc... Hrm, I dunno what could be the problem then frown.

Just having the popups.ini file may not mean that it's loaded or that it is unchanged. I'd go into mIRC and press Alt-R, then click the Popups tab. Make sure there is stuff there for all 5 sections... to check each section, use the View menu to select sections 1-5.

If there is, then it is possible that you managed to get some trojan or you typed a bad command (/write $decode(hfda89ds723) type of thing ... btw, I wouldn't type that as I have no idea what that decodes to... it was just random characters... probably is safe, but just don't type it. laugh ). I think reloading is your best option.

If you want to save the logs, just go into your mIRC folder and copy the logs folder to your desktop. Then install mIRC to another folder and then copy the logs folder from your desktop to the new mIRC folder.

****Make sure everything works fine before you delete your old mIRC folder.****

See here for a solution to the "Break: command halted" problem. It has nothing to do with the contents of your popups.
