After installing the newest version of mirc I have lost the ability to op etc completely. Never had this issue before with mirc. All other commands work fine by command line or drop down. Any ideas???

No problems here, and since it doesn't work at commandline, it can't be caused by a corrupted popups.ini

The only reasons I can think of offhand for not being able to OP someone, is that:

1. You're trying to ask chanserv to do it, and chanserv doesn't recognize you as authorized to do it.
2. Someone has enabled the nickserv open to reject being opped by anyone.
3. You're not actually an OP.

If there are any status window error messages caused by trying to OP someone, that would provide a helpful clue.

It is just an odd happening. I installed 6.2 over the previous version. I am using a registered version. Have been using mIRC for years. After the install I could no longer op in any channels, but since I am logged into X I am auto opped in most channels. The annoyance is not being able to op in a small unregistered channel several friends meet in and op each other to keep the channel alive. Now I have to ask folks to clear out and then return to take op. etc.

The odd part is all other commands in the control drop down function as usual. There are no error codes either at command line or drop down. Just no execution.

Perhaps I just have a corrupted version and need to download and reinstall. Sigh.

How are you trying to op a person? What command are you using? What network is it?

If you're trying to use an /op command, it's possible you're missing the default aliases file.
