oh i was just being dificult really, I like the idea of a $key value, allowing you to detect if the currently running script was invoked by the keyboard, be it function key or pressing enter, and I would have $keyval contain the last pressed key value, so u can detect what function key or enter set off the active script.

This way assuming F1 alias is runnng from being called by F6 alias that was the key pressed, you get $key = $true and $keyval = xxx (dont know F6's keyval off the top of my head)

I would assume this would be great for being able to remotely automate your scripts, you could detect that the scripts were not invoked from the keyboard, and thus dont do any $? or $input as theres no one there to answer them.

I do that sometimes grin I'll post counter arguments for feature suggestions I'd like included and then wonder why :tongue:
