Windows 2000. mIrc v. 6.17 evaluation version.
Is there any way to stop the annoying blinking icon in the Windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen when running mIrc?
I have the mIrc chat window open but it's not the window with the focus. It's underneath other windows on the screen. Everytime someone posts something in the chat room the mIrc icon in the Windows taskbar starts blinking/flashing. It's very annoying.
If the mIrc window has the focus (it's on top) then the icon doesn't flash when someone posts.
I have checked and unchecked everything in the options box in mIrc but can't get rid of the blinking / flashing.
Suggestions I have tried:
1) options (alt+o) > irc > options > 'flash on' box
de-select one or both of these.
I've tried every combination and it still flashes
2) options > display > options > tray button
de-select 'animate icon when there is activity'
I tried this even though I'm not talking about the system tray. The flashing icon is in the Windows taskbar.
Any other ideas? I requested help from
help@mirc.com as suggested on mirc.com to no avail.
