Is there any way to stop the annoying blinking icon in the tool bar at the bottom when running mIrc?

I have the mIrc chat window open but it's not the window with the focus. Everytime someone posts something it starts blinking/flashing.

I have checked and unchecked everything in the options box in mIrc but can't get rid of the blinking / flashing.

options (alt+o) > irc > options > 'flash on' box

de-select one or both of these.

Both are de-selected and it still blinks/flashes. Any other ideas?

Did you mean the icon in the system tray?

options > display > options > tray button

de-select 'animate icon when there is activity'

If you meant the taskbar and the flash is disabled, you
probably have a script using the /flash command.

No. The Windows task bar. Just to the right of the Start button.

The system tray is on the right-hand side of the task bar and I have mIrc configured to not put its icon in the system tray.

Animate icon when there is activity is de-selected.

I did.

Not to my knowledge. I certainly didn't write one. Where would I check that? In the scripts editor I checked the aliases and popups tab and don't see any reference to /flash. Remote, Users and variables tabs are all empty.

BTW this is Win 2000.
