Hi, 1st you need to check if this problem appears ONLY with rizon network or all other networks, and you may need to check if you have a firewall blocking mIRC's connection to the internet, if none of the above two reasons exists. then it may be a routing problem between rizon servers and your ISP.

I was unable to resolve it too, messaging you
an ip to connect to for another server on Rizon.

It seems to only be effective on the rizon network and I can enter any other network I have tried. I have zonealarm which asks you if you want to block a server if it is being used and I have not blocked this. So the firewall part could not be the problem. As for my router, I have not changed anything since the last login to rizon. Could this be changed on it's own without me knowing?

While, technically, it's possible, realistically it's unlikely. Usually the things that will cause a router setting to change without requiring the users approval are, 1) power failure which causes the router to fall back to default parameters.
2) system updates sent by the manufacturer of the router via internet. Please note that these updates usually require your acknowledgement in advance.
3) a virus that has gotten through your firewall and anti-virus protections.

You should be able to determine which (if any) of these are applicable to your situation. If none of them apply, then I can't think of another reason for the settings on your router to have changed from the last time.

Wouldn't hurt for you to go in and double check that the settings haven't been changed (if you can recall what they should look like, that is)

did it look like this?

/server irc.rizon.netx
[15:05:06.422] * Connecting to irc.rizon.netx (6667)
[15:05:09.000] * Unable to resolve server

(note i used netx to make it not work, since i can resolve it normally)

This might fix it, its sometimes helps with dns issues

click start / run / cmd / ok

In the dos box that comes up type in
ipconfig /flushdns

close the dos box, and try to connect again.
Some times dns entries become invalid and thus need to be resourced from a dns server, this seems to be more relevent to irc servers than other things, reason unknown to me.
