Mass inviting is frowned upon by most people, so I wouldn't bother if I were you.

ok, so what are you using as the trigger for this? notify list?
or are you just going to broadcast the invite to each nick even if they are in the channel or not online?

Even if you're intentions are good it's not wise for us to post code that would be abused by many on such a popular forum. Please understand.

notify list is a great idea :-)
but is it possible to add a user to notify list with a trigger?
e.g. !add nick

Mass inviting is against rules on all networks, not counting some 'invented-yesterday-gone-tommorow' networks opened for fun. It's really irritating to those being invited too!

Unfortunately, this is an unavoidable debate on such a forum. Whilst YOU may want to "mass invite" for a perfectly legitimate reason, this is a very popular public forum and such code is easily abused by many others. The argument of course being, any code could be manipulated to be abused, and why should one person be stopped from getting help because of others who are abusive?

That said, mass inviting is a big issue on IRC so it's more likely mass inviting code is going to be abused, either by you (for example, if you're actually trying to be abusive and just lying about not wanting to be), or by other browsers of the forum.

"They can do what they want with it, it's not up to us" is a rather facile argument, and shouldn't be applied here smile

bodo0815, why don't you try explaining exactly why you want this code in the first place - it's quite possible there's a better solution, and one more agreeable to us all, or perhaps someone will think it's a perfectly legitimate reason and private message you the code you want help with.

Regards,
