mirc need this function... so the user have overview over all active downloads and uploads smirk

That is what scripts are for. Usually, if something is very easy to script, it isn't going to be added as a feature.

I use Invision, which covers that (at least network-by-network) along with my own speed monitoring window that tracks the speeds of all uploads and downloads in mIRC regardless of network. You can probably find a script for it on mircscripts.org. Depending what exactly you're looking for it to display, someone here may do one up in the script forum, if you ask.

mIRC isn't a file sharing application, so why would it have such a feature? For the vast majority using mIRC appropriately, this would be pointless. Those using it inappropriately are irrelevant.

well neither is perl or php, but you can run a tracker in it. dosnt make it an inappropreate use.

ALSO, before you jump on my case, there are lagitimate uses of bit torrent, including downloading massive linux isos and GPLed content.

Following your analogy: what's being asked for here, is that bittorrent functionality be added to the perl or php core language. And yes, that would be rather inappropriate as well. Regardless of any ethical issues surrounding file sharing.
