I have used mIRC for quite a few years now and I recently purchased a new computer and installed mIRC again and keep getting 'unable to resolve server' upon connection. My internet is running fine. What's the problem?

I have this exact problem! I installed the latest mIRC on my new computer. I only get "unable to resolve server".

However, I was able to copy my old hard drive files into a separate folder on my new computer's hard drive. And the old mIRC (6.03, I think, from a couple of years ago maybe) is there. When I click on that icon, I get to the afterx server just fine. What gives?! Much thanksz.

What do I do if I don't have an old file of the previous version. All I can find is mIRC 5.91 - 16 bit and it crashes everytime I connect? But glad to know I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Check your firewall and router settings. You may be blocking mIRC from connecting. Check XP's built-in firewall as well.

Note that you can get all versions of mIRC from mirc.net.
