Ive got a script that opens around 50 sockets at a time for reteriving and sending info.

Ive just moved this script over to a winxp pro sp2 computer.

CPU usage for mirc is now 50%.

When ive run this in the past on sp1 machines CPU usage has been 1%-10%

Are there any known issues with sp2 and mirc sockets?

I guess its the sp2 socket modfications, im not sure thou.
Any info or suggestions would be appreicated.

Cheers

I wouldnt believe a CPU usage for mirc if it came up and bit me in the butt. I have had one saying its using all the CPU and then i open something else 3 times and it still reconds its using it all.

Ill have a try and see if thats the case.

I just find it very strange that this only happens with sp2.

I don't know what's happening with that, but I find it interesting that when I check the CPU usage for mIRC, it normally comes back with soemthing between 90 & 110%...YES 110%...how in the world a program can use more CPU resources than the CPU has, is beyond me. I've stopped worry about it, and if mIRC seems to be running slow, a shut down of the program and then restart usually solves the problem. I am running Windows XP SP2 (Professional version), although I'm not sure what the differences are.
