Well, it all depends what format the help file is saved in, too. It can be saved as another format of help file and would have find ability. It would definitely be useful.

I think M$ is moving away from this form of HLP file, so I don't know that they'll add any features to the format.

there have been people who made a chm help file from the mirc.hlp and added a few things that aren't in the hlp file even...

I would love to see mIRC come with a chm file next release

also, you can really easy make a chm file out of html files... so they can be put online aswell, which creates a very nice scripting reference for people!
(great place to point people too who have questions instead off to tell them to try and look it up in the hlp )

Yeah, I have a nice utility for creating and converting help files in 3 or 4 formats including chm and hlp. It's "FastHelp" if I am remembering the name correctly. It used to be called DotHLP. There are probably other good ones out there as well.
