Forums mIRC Help Wtf is going on? Can't install 6.16

Hi all,

I seem to be having a problem installing the latest version of mIRC. The installer goes right through to the finish, but when I go to run it the mirc.exe file has been deleted from the folder (C:\Program Files\mirc.exe). It's damn weird, I don't even get a chance to run it. It's like the system deletes it as soon as it's copied over by the installer.

Strangely enough, I can get mIRC 5.15 working without any probs at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be your AV? There have been reports of some
AV programs reporting mIRC as riskware. If this is the
case, you should be able to add an exception for mIRC
as these are false.

I should have asked if you have your AV set to
automatically remove or quarantine infected files.

Hmmm ... I'm using Kaspersky Antivirus. And yep, turning off riskware detection fixed it.

Hmm...seems like most of the problems with an anti-virus program dectecting mIRC as riskware is Kaspersky Antivirus.

So far, I haven't heard of any problems with other anti-virus programs.
