Forums Connection Issues idle/pointless clones.

Hi, i searched the forum and could not find anthing about this problem:

idle/pointless clones.
* Bouncer redirects you to irc.quakenet.org (6667)
*** Looking up your hostname
*** Found your hostname, cached
*** Checking Ident
*** Got ident response
idle/pointless clones.

Im on broadband, got a router and a bnc. Never had this problem befor, can some one point me in the right direction.

That looks like some sort of kline or gline (server bans/network bans respectively). Your only option is to sort it out with the network's administration, it has nothing to do with mIRC (if you connected through any client you'd still be banned). Check out Quakenet's website for an email or forum to use. It may just be a case of waiting for it to expire. The ban may not be aimed at you specifically.

Yes it did say somthing about G-line but that was all it said.

some servers in general have Bnc bans due to just what the message was talking about " idle/spammers or clones ".

it could be possible also that it's a new adopted policy for that paticular server, since some servers do get a barrage of them.... don't know if this is the case but i agree with Mentality. Definatly would go to the quakernet site and find out...

Is the BNC running on your machine? Because if it wasn't connect to the server via your IP, make sure the BNC hoster wont connect to the server though, he will get the ban message.

Nah bnc was given to me of my mate. But like why?
