Hello,

it has occured to me that one of the chanells i keep op on was attempted to be taken over. When i came back in the evening my mIRC was closed - without a trace. As if i would close it with clicking the X. I had op on the channe with another irc client, Trillian, and that one was still on the channel and connected.

Is this just an action performed by a ghost or perhaps a known exploit? i use version 6.16

Have you notice the mIRC quit message in the triliant window ?
Also there can be a bug in some script(i hear some kind of bug in PnP script, but don't know sure what exploitation allow to do).
So, why someone need to close your client if he have(if that is some exploit etc, bug in script, etc) full control and can just op himself ?

Ehehe.. Maybe smth else..

If you'll leave again your mIRC for a night, you might type /debug smth.random.txt in mIRC, so if
that happens again, you will know sure what was the last irc-activity!

dunno, i dont have many scripts, and bug output doesnt show anything... just thought there is some bug that for example if someone sends you some text, mirc doesnt get it and it crashes.

thanks for the info, i dont think this will happen again but it's good to know.
