Forums Bug Reports on open doesnt work with /query

This is in relation to this post.
Code Used:
on *:open:?:*: { echo -s Opened a window with $target }
Will echo when I am pm'd but when I /query Static nada, The result of the above post is he did an alias for the query command, but not sure if this is a true but or by design
