One thing that has left me pondering for lengthy periods is finding a way for mIRC to sense the volume that a sound/song is currently playing at. Most wil know that the volume level of a sound file will differ from the next, depending on where it was sourced from, and this applies to legally obtained files as well as the other kind.

Question: Can mIRC sense this level? I can't find a way or any explanation in the help file. If it's able to but currently doesn't I think supporting it with $vol(filetype).auto or some similar identifer would be useful. That way scripts can be written to make adjustments to the volume level with /vol <0-65535> as each new file plays in a similar way to an automatic gain control.
