Perhaps the editable file could actually be registry entries instead of an .ini, So keeping the mIRC dir clean with just one .ini of servers would still be possible.Or put it in a sub directory.
The use of the registry should (imo) be restricted to "only when absolutely necesary" - using the regestry would prevent two computers using the same mIRC install (at diff times ofc) over a network share, would prevent easy backup and restore of mIRC and would tie mIRC to a particular "state" of windows - is saving one extra file really worth that price?
How about puting all .ini files in a config/ subdirectory - including urls.ini and others - would that be better?
