You'll find most people whom write thier own scripts, orfor that matter frequent IRC will say that such scripts as Invision, Scoop, and others are"dangerous". Reason being, their audience (for the most part) is directed at beginners or layman. For this reason, if they were to hide backdoors, trojans, etc (as some do) the end user wouldn't detect such a threat.
What it comes down to is the person using the script has no idea what is in it, aside from the visuals. For all you know, there is an alias removing a file as a time every time you load the script.
