In light of the above (thanks Sarky!) it would be wise of you to run the virus scanner which appears at that
Pest Patrol page. A couple of other good ones are
AVG and
SwatIT. You'll also find that
this thread has a lot of resources and information that may come in handy.
For future reference, don't:
- Go to any websites you are told to visit, whether they appear in emails or are spammed to you via IRC.
- Accept any files from anyone on IRC except if they are trusted friends.
- Open emails or email attachments from people you don't know.
You should always have an up-to-date virus scanner running on your computer at all times.
