You're not understanding... I do have concrete facts. There are over 1 million people that are signed up to the mIRC newletter that patiently await new updates and news coming from mIRC. The other thing is I don't really need to (nor would I) "sway" an airhead such as yourself into buying a piece of software. The fact is Khaled has put a lot of time and effort into mirc, and deserves a mere $20 for a lifelong license to own mIRC. Its not like MS where you pay for every release. A one time fee of $20 and you have yourself a copy (or several, as in versions) of mirc.
Personally, I think you should go find another client. You obviously are too stubborn and(or) cheap to put $20 into something thats well written, well designed, caters to your opinions, and is easy to customize.
As far as your little statistic, go ino a well populated channel on a server, and ctcp version each user. I will bet that (Atleast) 80% of them return mIRC. Just to prove your last statement wrong.
