I think you can do a lot in a window: doesn't have to be a Windows editbox per say. I mean: in a channel window you can make nicknames coloured, even whole messages if you like. So maybe instead of writing things in an editbox you might just write in a window, and instead of sending stuff to and and getting things from a server it might just read from and write to a .mrc file ?
