I love the flexibility in editing posts. It makes me feel respected.
On other boards, you can't decide whether or not the post will be "marked as edited", thus even if you only wanted to correct a typo, you end up with an unpleasant "edited by ..." addition.
My thought anyway. Some may not care that much
