for a bot to be in the chat, mirc must be open at all times, you can LOCK the computer as long as the user is still signed-on and it will still work.
if you need a cloud server to run it on, amazon runs web services where you can have a 1GB ram virtual private server for a year for free (except for the $1 activation fee)
