If it's a code page issue, you'll have to use mIRC 6.35 until/if the network upgrades to use Unicode. Letting them know that you support moving to Unicode may help to push them toward that option as knowing that people want a change is a good reason to provide that change.
If it's a script, you can stop using the script or find and change whatever part is causing the problem.
