Exactly, it's common to make that mistake (hitting the insert key when you obviously don't want to), so it's common to fix that mistake too (whatever the way, ctrl+z being the easiest).
Now if you knew it was obvious, why say it ?

Anyway, people are doing that mistake everytime, it's not even about get the text back to what it was and hitting the insert key again, it's about knowing if you are in overwrite mode because sometimes, you just think you hit the key but there's no way to know except editing something, which is obviously annoying and which is why IDE implemented that feature.

ie: your post didn't add anything to the thread and only generated 4 useless post, please think about that.
