As mentioned, check your spam folder. Also, some free and even paid email sites automatically delete certain messages they think are spam instead of moving them to a spam folder. Beyond that, some networks will not let you use a free email like gmail or hotmail to register due to the large amounts of spammers, bots, etc who use those accounts. There have been times I've blocked forum registrations from all gmail accounts in the past due to the constant spam coming from them. I got that worked out other ways later, but it shows how much trouble allowing those emails to be used can create.
