RusselB's code broke my chat window. Messages started going to the server console screen, instead of the room screen.
Thels' code worked great... Didn't even need to look at the second part. There were no issues with spaces.

Try entering two adjacent spaces, or spaces before the first word/after the last word. You'll notice those spaces will disappear. If that's not an issue, then you don't need to worry about that last bit of code.
