What is the actual network address you are using for the /server command?
Also, I seem to recall that there were a few posts about a Karaoke network that closed without warning, and a lot of the users ended up going to other networks.
I suggest performing a Search in the Connection Issues section for the term Karaoke and restrict the search to posts within the past 2 years. You will probably get a lot of excess topics, but if you go through them you may find what you're looking for.
