The best way to find the cause of a problem is to rule out other things. Starting with a clean copy of mIRC without any scripts is a good way to verify that it's not script related. If you don't test that, then you could spend a long time testing everything else only to find out later that it's the script and it's a setting you have set that wasn't set at your friend's.
