I certainly wasnt calling you or anyone who doesnt read the help files an imbecile. The explanation in the help file on this is to the point, which is why i thought you were asking where to find the info. I dont see how i could give you examples or illustrations on how this works... if you check the box to use random (not in a row) sockets, thats what mIRC will do. If you want it to bind to a specific ip, in the option you put in the ip you want used.
