It's not MIRC that needs the "upgrade" it's your windows fonts. Microsoft has patches that will allow you to see the Euro symbol on your computer. Try looking on their website and doing a search under their DOWNLOADS section for EURO or something similar. I had to do that on my machine and now it shows the euro symbol just fine on most (not all) fonts
