I imagine you're writing a socket script to post to a forum... These sites usually use cookies to validate that you're a browser and not just a socket script trying to automate forum posts. This means you have to send specific data to the socket to validate your connection. While you can still code around this in general, I don't think this is the right place to be asking about how the
HTTP protocol works-- you're better off searching that on google (hint: the search terms are in bold).
