It could be that...but you gotta ask yourself this...rather than rushing to get an update on a mIRC version and possibly facing many bugs in the process and or any errors that need to be checked...Khaled probably takes his time because of the fact that he does have a life outside of mIRC (personally if it were me being rushed to make something happen and not do anything else until it was finished I would probably go insane...but thats just me).
The more time that is taken, the better the odds at getting a better version. Kinda like having quality rather than quantity in features. But i agree that if there was a deadline and you didn't make it, then people would be unhappy. To keep people happy is probably another priority thats why if there is no deadline there is no pressure...(Gosh I hope I'm right about this...)
