Does this happen with a clean installation of mIRC, ie. installing in a new empty folder with no external scripts, etc.?
If it doesn't happen with a clean installation, perhaps one of the scripts/dlls/etc. you are using with mIRC may be causing the problem. You should try to narrow it down by unloading your scripts one by one to see which one is causing the problem.
