He didnt say he wants to change it, he said he wants to hide it or block it, so people dont know what hes using, a legit reason for this, might be due to scripts that he uses that dont run on newer version of mirc, he is stuck using a version with an exploit, so to hide that fact he wants to block the version reply.

He simply needs to use /ignore -t on the person making the version request.

In comment to the help manual saying "Note: You can't prevent the standard version reply from being sent." I dont beleive what i say contidicts this, as that version replies are always sent if a version request makes it to mircs internal event handlers, if u have ignored the nick, then it doesnt, just the same as any matching /ignore ignores the incoming message.
