I doubt it will ever move out of the Netherlands, but I agree.
I think the idea is so that all local files/logs/etc have the correct time on them for him (or whoever runs the server). Personally, I think making things easier for "customers" is better than making things easier for the "company". Yes, we aren't customers and the forum isn't a company, but the idea is the same.
Either way, I can leave it being off 2 hours. Just was wondering what was up and now I know.
