I currently use the standard .msg $read(file.txt, n) to output a random line from a 400+ line file. However, I've had channel users repeatedly claim to see repeats more frequently than normal. I too have noticed this behavior, albeit in a limited manner.

I was curious about how mIRC seeds the randomness. If anyone knows how I could make the selection even more random, I would appreciate it.

It's simple even more lines the file has the chances to take the same each time will be less, i don't know if there is any other way.

See this please. - Are you experiencing the same issue? If so: are you using the latest version (7.36)?

I'm currently using 7.36. I have not written a test script and was going solely on anecdotal evidence. I'll implement a similar script to test.
