Unlike phpbb and other freeware projects, UBB.Threads has to be purchased. Personally I like this type of board the most, but that's one's decision whether or not it worth the money.

I am pretty sure that the forum software was purchased for this site. Ripping it would be considered Illegal (Yes I said it for those keeping track of anyone mentioning the word illegal). There really isn't nothing wrong with the phpBB forums to the best of my knowledge. If you really want forum software from UBB threads, you may want to purchase it, i'm pretty sure its worth paying for. But that is just my opinion though...

(Yes I said it for those keeping track of anyone mentioning the word illegal) lol .. touche I just want to say something .. the first couple of those posts/replies the other night was me .. I deleted as many of the others as I could ... but the others were the work of my sharp tongued, 14 year old, know-it-all nephew .. I do apologize to all offended, but he did capture my sentiments on the subject of refusing help but instead, offering unsolicited lessons in morality. That's what grade school is for.

Alot of disagreements happen on this message board if not all in general. Alot of issues are brought up about using mIRC for downloading rather than chatting. That is not its intended use, if people are downloading material with the mIRC client, all I can say is don't mention that on this message board for it will only spark a never-ending debate. Half the time Parabrat and the other moderators delete these posts because of tempermental users giving their point of view, myself included.
I stand 50-50 on the issue at hand because there are good aspects of downloading. I personally do not use the mIRC program for that purpose, but instead, I use programs that are designated for that purpose. The Good thing about downloading, is that I can get old television programs that do not air anymore let alone have a dvd or vhs collection. Also, I download music like a song or three from new albums. This helps me make a decision whether or not the CD worth purchasing in its entirety or just worth purchasing a few singles. The bad thing about downloading is that people download EVERYTHING for free and not contributing to supporting the artists or producers of such content. But i'm pretty sure thats what the extra taxes for blank discs and video tapes are for when you purchase them.
That is why arguments happen on this board, everyone clashes with issues and it leads to insults and further argument. So with that being said, there is no need to apologize because what is said is said and by now forgotten. Besides, I love a good debate whenever the chance comes up. But that isn't what the purpose of these forums. The purpose is to help users with problems with connecting using the mIRC client and those who have scripting problems, or anything else that pertains to mIRC.
As for the forum software, phpBB is fairly descent for those who like freeware, but if you like UBB.threads you will more than likely have to pay for it. Seems fair in my opinion, but like I said before, its probably just me.

*ahem* disclaimer: i only edit/delete those opinions that include name calling/insults/ethnic slurs/extreme obscenities or are shining examples of text based temper tantrums without redeeming social value or share personal viewpoints of someone else's character, intelligence, or body parts. oh yeah, i frown on someone being told to go forth in solitude and multiply too. so
RoCk: thank you for explaining about the posts from your nephew.
